Every day of our lives we set-up; The table for a meal, our wardrobe for the day, or our workplace to function. It takes a little time in most cases. Sometimes, it is a long, drawn out procedure that the setter-upper makes haste to complete. Life is all about the set-up, the ways in which we go about our days. A set-up involves living and living involves the preparation to complete a task. Setting-up is a part of the care we provide; essential to meeting needs, expected and unexpected throughout the day. Lists of what is to be done a tucked deep inside a linty pocket, usually not seeing the light of day until the day is through.
Imagine finding setting-up a mundane, unimportant, unnecessary task and think again.
At the break of creation, GOD set a purpose in all things, living and otherwise. He decided there would be life, light, darkness, hope, despair, you name it; all for a part of the care He provides for His creation.
Almighty GOD set the stars in the sky, the tide in the sea and the heartbeat of humankind. Like the flutter of a butterflies wings and the pace of a snail, He knew and so it was; A set-up.
One day, willful people set-up to set things apart and GOD knew that we would need a Savior. So He set about being the Avenue by which all people might be saved. No lists, no unexpected needs, just a purposeful, wonderful pocket filled with freedom, washed by the blood of His perfect, spotless Lamb.
And so we set-up; The table for a meal for those who do not know Him, a wardrobe for the broken who need Him, or our workplaces with prayers to function. It takes a little time in most cases. Sometimes, always, it is worth it to set-up a soul toward the kingdom of GOD.
What will you set-up today?
“But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for Himself:
the LORD will hear when I call unto Him.” Psalm 4:3 KJV
