tvI am a true Boomer Baby, born into a generation engrossed into visual media  pathology, aka television. I realize that this makes me one of billions who access and then assess life through recorded information. This would be a bad thing if it were not for Holy Spirit intervention and the remote control.

I am positively and absolutely encouraged by recorded pieces that inspire healing, enlightenment and joy. Turns out that a mind, set on such ideals, reflects in some small way to Biblical teaching. I am glad for that.  I am also absolutely, positively baffled by a trend in the world to pursue empty, meaningless gratification. But not to worry, there is a reason for everything. I realized today – during a commercial message – that people enjoy seeing other people doing ridiculous things; it makes the voyeur feel better about his or her self. Ergo, reality T.V.

I am positisalutely ecstatic over the fact that the One Who controls the universe understands the meaningless, sometimes inexplicable behavior of human kind. Quite often the pursuits we involve ourselves in can only be resolved through the filter of our Loving LORD.  I mean really, how could anyone eat a $2000 bowl of pasta while American children go to bed at night hungry. Well, somehow in His infinite wisdom Christ loves and reaches out to all continually; looking beyond the faults of the least and the most to where He knows we can be as we are designed to be.

“All things have been handed over to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him. Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:27-30 ESV
