Encinitas: “Little Oak”

Cruising south on Old Highway 101? Just beyond the fair village of Carlsbad, California you will find the City of Encinitas- do not blink or you will miss it!  On one recent, drizzly day drive I was rewarded with a visit to the area. The city ignited all of my senses. After passing through the tiny smart and quiet neighbor Leucadia, I was immediately caught up in the small but hearty, coastal township of Encinitas, aka, “Little Oak”; it earns the pseudonym.  Despite a persistent, light ocean rain, the city was as busy as ever. The streets were slippery wet (always interesting), the nearby ocean was almost still (Pacific) with misty gray-blue skies wafting above ( not far from Heaven). The moisture in the air magnified the area and Encinitas glistened clearly as a thriving merchant-laden community- a shop-a-list-as delight. Since moving to San Diego County in 1977 (YIKES!!!) I have thoroughly enjoyed perusing beach city merchants, vendors and ‘fleas’. Let it be said, Encinitas never disappoints the thirsty aesthetic soul. If you are related in any way to Creator GOD, then you know His handiwork is seen in  the details of human, marine, geological and botanical design; Encinitas has it all.  It is, after all, one of San Diego County’s finest beach cities.

“…Great and marvelous are your works, O Lord God, the Almighty.

Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations.” Revelation 15:3b
