“Take Knowledge!” or Journal
Keeping a journal was recommended to me by a therapist many years ago. Since then I have heard learned speakers encourage the same. One day, I heard a lady teacher say she journals on paper scraps and napkins in restaurants and I knew it was for me. I highly recommend it for all types- especially the faint of heart, the creative and the heartbroken. You will be surprised what you will see about yourself.
In December 1997 I asked my man to give me an Oswald Chambers Devotional journal for Christmas. I started to track my thoughts 17 days later and try to keep up. The pages are now filled with all kinds of stuff, notes, scribbles, doodles, photos, all mostly reflecting the me I have become. I rarely read back but today I did and found I am much the same today as I was 16 years ago. Hmmm? I do not know if that is a good thing. Oh well, at least I am consistent. Please, read on.
My Utmost for His Highest April 12th “Moral Dominion”
“Death hath no more dominion over Him… in that He liveth unto GOD. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto GOD.” Romans 6:9-11
’98 Alive in You LORD, i want to be!
’01 Thank You Holy Spirit for leading to “letting go” I receive Dear LORD, being “raised to Life” by Your hand. Thank You Father for Your gentle continuous teaching.
’04 At a crossroad Jesus. Set Yourself free on my life & free me. Open my eyes to Your purposes for me & show me Holy Spirit how to live.
’05 Sin is pervasive & destroys large numbers of hope, peace, joy- all the good that You Father have desired for Your people. My body yields far too easily to sin. To the point of being unable to speak against it. When the time comes, from now on, Holy Spirit give me the courage and best possible words to speak. Initiate the motion & energy that to come from me I pray. Every time! LVDC (lunch break at Las Villas de Carlsbad)
’09 Easter Sunday- Thank You LORD for Worship time, Jason, J.J., Anna, Mom & somehow Luis together for one more time. “Letting go”!
’13 – v.9 “knowing that Christ having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him” – or me. Take knowledge! – v. 14 “For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.” And I gladly receive the grace only You give my GOD & my King. In this life so much is about the law of human desire, the flesh of the one who inflicts it. So glad that I am set free from the fear of a shallow life enveloped by the death of sin. Thank You Jesus for life eternal found only by Your grace… Your blood shed for me. Take knowledge! I am set free!
