The Cooperative

My Babies 1991

“You’re blessed when you can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight. That’s when you discover who you really are, and your place in God’s family”. Matthew 5:9 (The Message)

I think the holidays are all about GOD’S grace. He has graced me with more than I have  the sense to ask for. For example, Luis and I have three amazing sons; each one with the significant talent of cooperation. When they were all under age 11, they showed their parents how to live Matthew 5:9. Really! Our middle son James led his older and younger brother in ‘military’ precision; placing rows and rows of miniature toys in battalion formation. Toy soldiers, airplanes, cars, animals, you name it.  Our youngest son John, aka “J. J.”, organized our annual family amusement park trips to ensure he and brothers could effectively cover the property-taking in every ride. Every ride. The most patient, cooperative one was our oldest son Jason. Every Christmas morning, for several years, he led his brothers in waking up, doing morning hygiene and their simultaneous discovery of the Christmas tree bounty. Together they would wildly sort their packages before opening them. Then Jason led them in collecting the scattered gift wrap and bows into a plastic bag! For me, that was a very big deal. But even better still, starting at the age of 7 or 8, Jason led his little brothers up to the front of the church for altar call every Worship service. Why? To pray for their Dad to be safe on police patrol and for his salvation. It put me to shame because I never thought to do that but Jason did. Over the years my husband and I have realized just how undeservedly blessed we are. All three sons were miracle births. All three are currently in jobs where they invest in the lives of others. All three have a personal relationship with the LORD. Thank You Jesus! A Cooperative is the best gift any parent could ask for and this grateful heart knows that full well. Praying for Your Christmas Blessings and a Gospel-filled 2014. With Love, Jackie
