I enjoy perusing official stamps & seals. Vast consumerism has led to so many different kinds. One of the most interesting is the one on the gas pump. Check it out the next time you buy gasoline. The designs in the marks catch my attention. Swirls and scalloped edges in particular. Every stamp of approval or seal of certified authenticity tells us the established qualifying standards have been met. A recent one-on-one conversation made me wonder about individual standards and the lack thereof. It appears that many Christians determine themselves so expert with GOD’s WORD that they set their seals on certain ideals, activities or relationships; Granting their own private approval or public then so demonstrating their choices in words and deeds. The Holy Bible (which can be referenced as an ideal, an activity or a relationship) is not excluded from the audacity of human approval. In fact, a 2011 Gallup poll shows that 1 in 3 Americans believe the Bible to be true. But look around and see how Biblical teaching is discounted, often scoffed at and dismissed even in the House of GOD! So, what do you think? Do you believe the Bible is the infallible WORD of GOD or just ‘religiosity’, the basis of legalism and some unnecessary governance?
The standards, GOD’s standards, set my own private & public seal of approval. My heat’s desire is to continuously apply His established standards to my life every moment. WHY? Because the Truth sets the captive (people like me) free! I want to live this life firmly upon the Holy Scriptures because I have tried everything else and all else fails miserably. NO SUCCESS, NO JOY. While I remain a human disaster zone, GOD has His hands on me and one day I will be complete, whole and fully free. No longer judging through my own eyes but I will forever be fully alive in His. ALL HUMAN STAMPS & SEALS ABOLISHED! My standards: Exodus 20:1-17, Deuteronomy 6, Luke 6:43-45, Galatians 2:14-21 & 5:13-26, Philippians 4:4-9, 1 Peter 4 & 2 Timothy 2. THE BIBLE: CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT IT, WON’T EVEN TRY!!!
